Creativity through the lens of an Entrepreneur and Owner of BringtheHoopla

Nicole Heriot-Mikula was born and raised in Shelton, graduated with a BFA from The Hartt School of Music (U of Hartford) and pursued her dreams in music theatre in NYC for 10 years. She returned home in 2011 to begin a new journey that allowed her to embrace the things she was passionate about including building a small business and her community.  

Nicole is Co-Founder of Celebrate Shelton, owner of BringtheHoopla and an Event Manager specializing in festivals and community events.

BringtheHoopla, an educational fitness company  rovides high quality programming to children of all ages while use their handmade hoops as the main tool for play, learning and exercise. BTH is celebrating their 10 year anniversary all month long. 

Celebrate Shelton has helped to ignite Downtown Shelton by bringing over 30 festivals and events to Veterans Memorial Park as well as creating a monthly Downtown Handmade Market for 3 years which has since ended, but has served as a model for many other municipalities and cultural commissions. 

She lives in Seymour, CT with her husband, an incredible musician, Ben Mikula, and their three super sweet girls, Magnolia, Delilah & Ruby.
